This comes as a great loss for not only Nintendo fans but all gamers alike. Mr. Iwata contributed greatly to many beloved Nintendo games such as Kirby as well as the Mother series. He was more than just the President of Nintendo, he was a figure head and a celebrity to fans and gamers. Above all, he was a gamer. As Iwata himself once said, "On my business card, I am a corporate president. In my mind, I am a game developer. But in my heart, I am a gamer."

Rest in peace Iwata-san.
