Cuphead Delayed to Mid-2017

Cuphead Delayed to Mid-2017

It looks like Cuphead will now be launching in mid-2017, according to developer Studio MDHR.

The post on the team's site, points to the decision to keep the full vision of the game intact as the reason for the delay.

Throughout this year we discussed reducing the scope to make a 2016 release, but we made the difficult decision to delay the launch in order to ship with our vision intact. We are happy to announce that Cuphead will be coming to Xbox One, Windows 10 and Steam in Mid-2017.

Cuphead was originally announced at E3 2014, and was immediately praised for its beautiful 1930s cartoon inspired art style. Since then, much concern regarding the game has risen, due to the game's heavy emphasis on boss fights, and not much dedication to platforming. Studio MDHR went back to the game to add in platforming sections, though it seems like the decision has set the game's release back a bit.

Second Best Gaming is eagerly awaiting this side-scrolling adventure and will be sure to bring more coverage as the game approaches its launch next Summer(ish).
