EA Teases Plans to Bring "Big" Game to Nintendo Switch
During the UBS Global Technology Conference in San Fransisco, EA CFO Blake Jorgensen teased the release of an upcoming big name EA game for Nintendo's next console, the Switch. The scoop comes way of GameSpot.com
"We have yet announced what game, but you should assume that it's one of our bigger games," according to Jorgensen.
What's really interesting is that it seems that EA will be playing it safe by bringing over a port, rather than developing something entirely new for the Switch.
Jorgensen went on, "It's an interesting device. But I can't yet predict how broad it's going to be. Will people be interested in a portable device alongside their regular portable device that they have today?"
Jorgensen's statement shows EA's reluctance to jump in head first to Nintendo's new platform. After the failure of the Wii U, and seeing the similarities between it and the Switch, it only makes sense for publishers and developers to come in with a bit of speculation.
When the Wii U launched in 2012, EA was one of the console's biggest supporters with games like Need for Speed Most Wanted, Mass Effect 3, and FIFA 13, though these were ports as well. It will be interesting to see how long and how dedicated EA will be to the Switch.
