343 Industries Studio Head Leaving
Josh Holmes, studio head at 343 Industries, has just announced his departure from the FPS Halo-centric studio.
The announcement comes way of Halo Waypoint, where Holmes talks about his future endeavors, as well as his reasoning for leaving.
I have loved every moment here on Halo but I find myself drawn to new horizons. This month I’m leaving 343 Industries and excited for my next adventure to pursue independent game development.
As I depart I am passing the torch to my good friend and long-time partner in crime, Chris Lee. As the head of production on Halo 4 and Halo 5: Guardians, Chris has played a key role in the studio since our inception. He is a tremendous leader and Halo is in great hands with him.
Holmes has been with the team since it was formed in 2009, and has served as creative director during the development of Halo 4. After the launch of Halo 4 in 2012, Holmes went on to become the studio head throughout the development of Halo 5: Guardians.
We wish Homes the best in his new efforts as an indie developer, as well as Lee and the rest of the team at 343i, as they continue to work on the Halo franchise.
