Unfinished Left 4 Dead Campaign Releases 8 Years Later
Rejoice Left 4 Dead fans! An unfinished final campaign for 2008's zombie shooter has just been released by the game's original creators, Turtle Rock Studios.
The campaign is called "Dam It," and it explains what happens between the events of the "Dead Air" and "Blood Harvest" stories. The campaign starts when the gang's plane lands on a small airstrip in a rural area, they continue to make their way through an apple orchard, a hiking trail, a burning forest, and reach a finale at a hydroelectric dam.
Since "Dam It" is unfinished, there are a handful of features that don't work, as well as areas that don't look so hot. Still, it's a new Left 4 Dead campaign be grateful. Lord knows Valve will probably never make a third...
Here its the development team's outline for the map, complete with annotations:
Left 4 Dead was originally created by Turtle Rock Studios, but Valve bought the game and the studio after most of the first game had been created. Later, Left 4 Dead 2 was released and Valve let go of Turtle Rock. The studio went on to create Evolve.
