The Assassin's Creed Movie Kinda Tanked
Assassin's Creed hit domestic theaters last week, and after the big holiday weekend, the movie is performing poorly.
The Michael Fassbender produced film cost 20th Century Fox over $125 million, and after six days at the box office, the film has only managed to recoup a measly $22.5 million. The movie's reception was poor heading into Thursday's debut, though that shouldn't have completely destroyed the films's performance seeing as it is the busiest time of year for movies.
Assassin's Creed is expected to do better overseas when it comes to countries such as China, that seem to just eat up video game film adaptations. Still, the movie is not pulling impressive numbers in the States so far.
Of course the movie does go up against Rogue One, which would be a tough competitor for any film, so perhaps that plays a large role.
