Mario Might Be Getting a New Formula

Mario Might Be Getting a New Formula

Did you like what you saw of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild at E3? Well it looks like Nintendo may have plans to something new with the Mario franchise as well.

In a recent IGN interview with none other than Shigeru Miyamoto, the following statement was released, "We're always challenging ourselves to create something new, so hopefully you'll see a new kind of Mario in about a year or two".

He also noted, "Maybe next E3 we'll be able to share something."

To see the Mario franchise take such a new direction would be huge. The last proper Mario entry we saw was 2013's Super Mario 3D World. Some fans would argue that the last faithful Mario entry was Super Mario Galaxy 2. Either way, Mario games have kept pretty consistent throughout the years.

Like Miyamoto said, hopefully we will see something next year at E3!
