Xbox One S Coming August 2

Xbox One S Coming August 2

Microsoft has confirmed that the newer, slimmer Xbox One S will hit store shelves on August 2.

For those who have pre-ordered theirs already, expect for your box to arrive on launch day. Pre-orders are still available, but supplies are limited.

The unfortunate news, however, is that only the 2TB model will launch on August 2. The Xbox One S will launch in three different models, a 500GB model for $299, a 1TB model for $349, and a 2TB model for $399. The two lower tier models are still without a solid launch date, but expect arrival to be shortly after the 2TB launch.

The Xbox One S was announced last month at E3 and features 4K video support and HDR contrast. The box is now 40% slimmer, has the power supply built in, and comes packed with the slightly refreshed controller.

For fans of the Gears of War series, don't forget that Microsoft is also working on a Gears of War 4 themed Xbox One S, which will be available in mid-September.
