PlayStation Plus Subscription Will Increase Next Month

PlayStation Plus Subscription Will Increase Next Month

Time to renew your PS Plus membership, because it's about to take a price hike!

Sony just confirmed via the PlayStation Blog that starting September 22, a year of PlayStation Plus will go from $50 to $60, while the three month option will go up to $25. The good news is that the month-to-month option will remain at $10. This is the first time that the cost for PS Plus has increased since the service launched in 2010.

"The new pricing reflects the current market conditions while enabling us to providing exceptional value to our customers," says Sony on their blog post. If you do not wish to continue your service, Sony recommends turning off your auto-renewal in the accounts settings. If you are a current member, you will only be effected if you renew on or after September 22.

PlayStation Plus is an online service that is required to play games online on PS4. It also gives you access to discounts, as well as free games each month. Even for $60, the value is still pretty great.
