Amazon's Battlefield 1 Collector's Edition is Pretty Weak

Amazon's Battlefield 1 Collector's Edition is Pretty Weak

Are you excited about the upcoming game Battlefield 1? Well it is only normal to contemplate getting the collector's edition of the game if you're a big fan. How about a collector's edition that doesn't come with the game?

Yeah, Amazon has an exclusive collector's edition for $130 that has opted out of including the most important part, the game. Check out Amazon's listing here. The listing is even pretty forward about the bad news. It says clearly "Does Not Include the Game".

That's pretty lame, but here's what $130 does get you, if you wanna go ahead and get this version anyway.

  • A 14" statue
  • Exclusive steelboook case
  • "Premium Packaging"
  • A patch..
  • Cloth poster
  • A deck of playing cards
  • A messenger pigeon tube with DLC inside (you can't make this stuff up)

Perhaps Amazon's thinking is to make a collector's edition for those who already have the game pre-ordered elsewhere. The regular collector's edition includes all of the above, and the game, for $190, so Amazon's edition is same deal minus the game and the price of the game. There is no real monetary value in opting to buy both the game and the collector's edition separately, but the option is there if you want it.

Battlefield 1 releases October 21 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
