N64 Emulator Released on Xbox One, Microsoft Took It Down

A Nintendo 64 emulator appeared on the Xbox One store over the weekend, but Microsoft just took it down.

The app is called Win64e10 and it is still available for Windows 10 PCs, as well as Windows 10 tablets and phones. Microsoft recently released an update for Windows 10 that allows all apps to work across all Windows 10 platforms, if the app is designed to do so. Win64e10 had an update to bring it to Xbox One over the weekend.

According to the picture, it looks like games such as Super Mario 64 were available, would've been nice to try it out on Xbox One. The app is $10, which is about $10 more expensive than most emulators, but the idea of having an emulator on a home console is somewhat novel.

Of course other emulators have snuck onto app stores before. The Xbox One recently had an available emulator that featured games from a multitude of consoles, including NES, SNES, and Sega Genesis.
