2017 Games That Probably Won't Come Out This Year
It's the same story each and every year. There's a massive list of games all slated to come out by December 31, making it seem impossible to play all of the year's hottest games. Then by September or October, half of the games have been pushed into the new year.
2017 probably won't be an exception to this rule. Lets take a look at some games that probably arent coming this year. Sorry.
Let's be honest, does anyone think this game is even going to come out? It was supposed to release in 2016, but when the game was shown at E3 last year, it looked really rough. Platinum Games has had a hard few years, with almost every recent release of theirs being mediocre at best. Scalebound would be a nice addition to the Xbox One library, but we aren't holding our breath.
As great as it is to see that Shenmue 3 is actually happening, it is unlikely that the game will be ready anytime soon. When the game was announced back in 2015, it was clearly in the early stages of development and it's doubtful that Yu Suzuki has a big enough team to create such an ambitious game in roughly 3 years. Just something to keep in mind, backers.
Mass Effect: Andromeda
Okay, so maybe this one will make it in 2017, but we wouldn't be surprised to see it slip into the early 2018 window. Yes, we know that EA keeps promising that ME: Andromeda will be out this Spring, but come on. They have barely shown off the game, it's supposedly weeks away from release and they haven't set a specific date. Something is up, and at this point, we just don't believe that Mass Effect: Andromeda will be coming out as soon as some may hope.
Kingdom Heart 3
We know. Everyone wants this game, but look what just happened to Final Fantasy XV. Kingdom Hearts 3 was shown way earlier than it should have been, and that sucks for us. Hopefully the game will be ready by the end of 2018, maybe early 2019, but please do not expect this game to release this year. Now that FF 15 is complete, all hands are on deck at Square for Kingdom Hearts 3, so hopefully we will see a bigger push for the game soon. Just don't expect this year to be the year where we finally get a proper Kingdom Hearts sequel that isn't for a handheld and doesn't include math equations in the title.
On the bright side, there are a ton of kick butt games that will most definitely be released in the 2017 calendar year. This year does look like it is shaping up to be a great one, and a couple of delays can't stop that.
