Nintendo Switch Will Still Have Miis

Nintendo Switch Will Still Have Miis

We now have confirmation that the Nintendo Switch will still include Mii characters.

Nintendo representatives answered a slew of interview questions to Kotaku, and during which, they explained the future of Miis. When asked whether or not Miis would be included on Switch, Nintendo mentioned that they would be, however, they would not play a prominent role as they did before. There will no longer be a dedicated Mii application, but rather an option for Miis in the system settings. Users can also find Mii options under their account settings.

Mii characters can be used to represent a user's profile, but users can also choose from a library of Nintendo characters such as Mario, Donkey Kong, etc. If developers choose to do so, Miis can have functionality in games, but it won't be required for any titles.

Mii characters previously made on 3DS or Wii U systems can be transferred to the Switch, if the user wishes to use their current Mii. The Mii creator tool will be similar to the way it has always been, although now there will be some additional facial and cosmetic options. Unfortunately, features like favoriting a Mii or adding a birthday to a Mii have been removed, though in all honesty those feautres were never really used.

So Miis live on! What do you think?
