Pokémon Duel Out Now on iOS and Android
The Pokémon Company just surprised launched a new mobile game called Pokémon Duel.
This free-to-play strategy game lets players battle opponents with digital Pokémon figures with up to six Pokémon at a time. The game was previously released in Japan last year under the name Pokémon Comaster, whatever that means.
Here is the trailer.
The game plays like a board game, and once you land a Pokémon by an opponents, you can battle it out using a wheel spinning attack mechanic. If your attack is more powerful than the opponents, you take their place on the board.
As players win battles, they will receive booster packs that include new monsters. In typical free-to-play fashion, you can also throw your real money at the game in order to buy additional packs, because that's how people play games these days.
In all fairness, these digital looking figures are pretty cool. Now if only fans had some way to buy copious amounts of Pokémon figures in real life...
