80 New Pokémon Coming to Pokémon GO
Pokémon GO is finally getting Jhoto region monsters after months and months of speculation.
Coming later this week, an update will release that adds over 80 monsters from classic games Pokémon Silver and Pokémon Gold, including Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Totodile. Not only will all these new Pokémon start rolling out, but generation two includes evolutions of many generation one Pokémon. This means that Pokémon like Onix will now be able to evolve into Steelix, Zubat into Crobat, Evee into Espeon and Umbreon, and so on and so forth.
Pokémon will now also have genders assigned to them when encountering them, not really sure if that'll change anything stat wise, but if you're playing Pokémon GO on that level, you need to consider getting a life.
New items like Berries and additional clothing for your avatar are also on the way! Nanab Berries will make a Pokémon slowing when trying to catch, while Pinap Berries double the amount of Candy you'll receive from a successful Pokémon capture. Players will also be able to customize their avatar with new hats, shirts pants, and "other items." Hopefully players will finally have the option to make their avatar look like anything other than an anime jogger.
Serious question, though. Is anyone really playing this game anymore? Hopefully this update can garner some of the game's initial user base, but this update almost seems too little, too late. Anyway, expect this update in the next few days.
