Someone Got the Switch Early and Leaked the User Interface
The Nintendo Switch is exactly two weeks away, but someone already got their hands on one and decided to leak a first look at the system's user interface.
NeoGAF user hiphoptherobot was, for whatever reason, shipped his unit of the Switch early, and while he or she did not disclose the retailer that did so, they did go ahead and upload this video that shows off the console being booted up for the first time.
The interface is extremely slim, but it looks nice. The sounds the device makes when selecting options, turning on, loading, etc. are extremely Nintendo. The Switch offers an interesting solution to unlocking the device - wake it up and hit the A button three times in a row. A rather simple work around that'll hopefully prevent users from accidentally turning on their Switch unintentionally.
It is notable that the eShop has retained its name, and the logo looks the same. Other than that there are a lot of instruction pages available on screen, which can hopefully be hidden or taken off screen through customization. The user in the video does also show off the Switch's ability to change the background theme from white to black. We expect to see Nintendo do as they did with the 3DS and eventually offer unique themes for purchase.
Funny that the Switch launches in two weeks and Nintendo still hasn't gone out of their way to show off things like the UI. Either way, here it is now.
