Splatoon 2 Gets Release Date, Horde Mode, and Amiibo

Splatoon 2 Gets Release Date, Horde Mode, and Amiibo

During last night's Nintendo Direct, Nintendo announced that Splatoon 2 will be heading to Switch on July 21, 2017.

Not only did we get a release date, but Nintendo also announced a new mode, as well as new Amiibo that will release the same day as the game. The Amiibo will come in a three pack (similar to the first game) and include new variants of an Inkling Girl, and Inkling Boy, and a squid. Of course, the older Splatoon Amiibo are still compatible with Splatoon 2

Finally, we got a look at Splatoon 2's new mode, Salmon Run. This is essentially a horde mode (thank god) where players match up in groups of four to take on waves of mutated salmon creatures in an effort to collect their eggs. Weird? Yes. Very Nintendo? Very yes! Take a look at the video below to get an extensive look at Salmon Run, as well as the new Amiibo.

Good to see that when Nintendo said Splatoon 2 would be out in Summer, they really meant Summer, because I really wanna play Salmon Run.
