We Might Get a SNES Classic Edition This Holiday

We Might Get a SNES Classic Edition This Holiday

The NES Classic Edition may be discontinued, but it appears we might be getting a SNES mini in time for Christmas this year.

Sources confirmed to Eurogamer that Nintendo is already working on the successor to Nintendo's impossible to get NES Classic Edition. Not only is the device currently in development, but sources also say the SNES mini is potentially to blame for Nintendo's decision to discontinue the NES Classic Edition.

If this rumor is to be true (which is pretty likely due to Eurogamer almost always being right) this would be huge. Sure, the NES Classic Edition was cool, but everyone knows the best Nintendo games are on the SNES, right?

Hopefully Nintendo has plans to really produce a crap-load of these things so that the market doesn't experience a re-telling of last winter's fiasco. However, this is Nintendo, so expect the worst. Bring it on, eBay scalpers. May you all burn in hell.

I was fortunate enough to actually get my hands on a NES Classic Edition after months of bitching and moaning. If you'd like to see the unboxing video (which I know you don't) you can check that out below (shameless plug).
