RUMOR: Mario x Rabbids RPG Coming Soon to Switch
Switch is rumored to be getting a new Mario RPG crossover game with Ubisoft's Rabbids. Expected to release in August or September, the game is being referred to as Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle.
Sources have confirmed the game to Kotaku as well as provided artwork that has been asked to not be shown off to the public. The game is reportedly being developed by one of Ubisoft's teams and is being made in the Snowdrop engine, which was also used to develop Tom Clancy's The Division.
The main mechanics and hooks of the game include local two-player co-op, turn-based fighting, and of course a good sense of humor (as both Mario RPGs and Rabbids are known for). The eight playable characters in the game will be Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, and four Rabbid variants of the four Mario characters.
If these rumors are to be true, we will certainly hear about this game by E3, if not sooner. Of course Second Best Gaming didn't reach out to Nintendo, because why the hell would they talk to us (me). We'll (I'll) keep you posted when or if this game gets properly announced.
