Xbox One X Getting a Project Scorpio Day One Edition

Xbox One X Getting a Project Scorpio Day One Edition

Not only did Microsoft finally give us the opportunity to pre-order the Xbox One X yesterday during their Gamescom event, but they also revealed a day one edition of the console, and it's themed to the Project Scorpio codename.

It's called the Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition (appropriately) and it's probably all sold out of pre-orders by now. The regular Xbox One also had a day one edition in 2013, so I guess this is a thing with Microsoft now.

Here's the reveal trailer. Try not to get too excited..

If I seem a little down on this, it's because I am. Why the hell is Microsoft making a $500 iterative version of their currently existing generation of hardware? Not to bash on those that are looking forward to the X, I just don't see the market being big enough to justify this thing's existence. But maybe that's why I'm a broke-ass blogger, and not a Microsoft exec.

The console itself features a unique design throughout, and includes the project Scorpio logo on the front. The controller is also a little fancy too, with the same logo being featured front and center.

The Xbox One X will be out on November 7, and I think you can still pre-order the Scorpio Edition on some sites. I dunno. Try your luck.
