SNES Classic Edition Pre-Orders Started Last Night and Sold Out Fast, But There is Hope
Is anyone surprised to find out that the SNES Classic Edition went up for pre-order late last night when no one was expecting it? Well, of course it did. But fear not, there is hope.
Last night, and I mean in the middle of the freaking night, Nintendo gave Amazon and Best Buy the thumbs up to open pre-orders for their new throwback box, because, you know, Nintendo hates us. So of course the damn thing sold out in less than thirty minutes.
The good news: Target, Walmart, and GameStop still have yet to go live with pre-orders, so there's still a chance. The bad news: Nintendo expects you to be awake at all hours of the night, waiting by your computer, ready at any moment to give them $80 for this thing. And most of us probably will..
According to Kotaku, GameStop employees were told this morning to wait for a "special announcement that will require immediate attention". God damn, I hope this means that we will get a chance to pre-order these at a reasonable hour today.
Good luck, everyone!
