Your Switch is Also a NES Emulator

I bet you didn't know that your Nintendo Switch was also secretly a NES emulator. Well, neither did I until about a minute ago.

Switchbrew, a Wiki site dedicated to homebrew on the Switch, has discovered that through unofficial means of booting up your Nintendo Switch users can access a file called "Flog." For those needing explanation, Flog backwards is golF, I mean, Golf.

It's an old NES game. Tricky Nintendo, what were you saving this for? Switchbrew was able to discover that this has been installed on Switch units since their initial retail launch, so every Switch has this on it.

If that's not interesting enough, Nintendo also went the extra mile to add some Joy-Con support in this version, which allows players to use motion controls when holding ZL or ZR.

This sounds an awful lot like the kind of stuff Nintendo has planned for "Classic Game Selects," the free games that paid online subscribers will be receiving. We assume this stuff is still separate from Virtual Console, but now we just really need Nintendo to say something.

We probably won't hear squat from them until they're ready to talk about VC and paid online on Switch.
