Rockstar is Bringing L.A. Noire to Switch and More
I know, I don't believe it either, but Rockstar Games has announced that a remake of L.A. Noire is coming November 14 for Switch, HTC Vive, PS4, and Xbox One.
Obviously these versions can't all be the same, due to the nature of each platform, so let's break this down a little bit.
The Switch version will include the original game with all the DLC and be retooled to work with the Joy-Cons, as well as, "gyroscopic, gesture-based controls, HD rumble and new wide and over-the-shoulder camera angles, plus contextual touch screen controls for portable detective work."
On the HTC Vive we get seven original, self-contained missions that have been completely rebuilt for virtual reality. The missions will be lifted from the original game, but it seems like this will be more of a bit-sized proof of concept game, and less of a fun remake of L.A. Noire.
As for the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game, we see the tried and true HD remaster format here. You get the original game with al the DLC, remastered and bumped up to take advantage of the console's added power. On regular PS4 and Xbox One the game will run natively at 1080p, but if you have a PS4 Pro or a Xbox One X you'll get to take advantage of the the updated visuals in stunning (I assume it's stunning) 4K resolution.
What an unexpected announcement, especially from a name we only associate with GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 these days.
Great news, Switch owners, developers are starting to make AAA games for your platform. You have been blessed.
